Federal Solar Tax Credit – Residential The Federal Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit allows taxpayers to claim a credit of 30% of qualified expenditures for a system that serves a dwelling unit located in the United States that is owned and used as a residence by the taxpayer. Expenses are considered fulfilled once the installation has been completed. If the installation is at a new home, the “placed in service” date is the date of occupancy by the homeowner. Expenses include all labor costs for preparation, assembly and installation of the system. If the federal tax credit exceeds the customers tax liability for the year, the excess amount can be carried forward to the following taxable year.

WHAT WARRANTIES ARE INCLUDED?
Lehmann Electrical & Design warranties our systems for 10 years. All solar panels installed have a minimum 25 year production warranty. Our top of the line inverters (Enphase) also have a 25 year warranty.
HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL SYSTEM LAST?
All of our equipment has a manufacturers warranty of 25 years. With todays technology we expect systems last 35 years or more.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN
IT SNOWS?
We exclusively install all black solar panels which absorb sunlight and allow them to help snow melt and slide off rapidly. This increases the amount of sunlight you will be able to harvest during the winter months.
DO I NEED A NEW ROOF?
We do a full structural analysis of your roof framing as well as inspect your shingles to ensure they are in proper shape to have panels installed on them. If there are any issues noted we are able to facilitate any roof repairs or replacements through a roofing company that we partner with.
HOW DOES SOLAR EFFECT MY PROPERTY VALUE?
Studies, have shown that homes with solar energy systems sell for more than homes without them. In most parts of the country, adding solar panels for home use actually increases your home value more than a kitchen renovation.
WHAT HAPPENS ON
CLOUDY DAYS?
We install the best solar panels on the market that are designed to be able to harvest sunlight even on cloudy days. They obviously wont generate as much as during a sunny day but rest assured, they still produce power and should be able to meet your yearly consumption if the system is desiged properly
